I started this blog with a little help from my dad. It began with a question I asked at dinner:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWhat is SPY, and why are you always talking about it?\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>My dad smiled and said, \u201cIt\u2019s an ETF that tracks the S&amp;P 500.\u201d<br>That didn\u2019t help much. I had no idea what an ETF was or what the S&amp;P 500 even meant.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But that was the moment I realized there\u2019s a whole world behind these words.<br>Instead of just explaining everything to me, my dad said,<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>\u201cWhy don\u2019t you write down what you learn each week? That\u2019s the best way to remember.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>That\u2019s how Student Investors was born.<br>I\u2019m still a student, and I don\u2019t know everything (yet), but I\u2019m excited to learn how money works, how investing works, and how I can grow smarter one post at a time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This blog is for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Curious students like me who want to understand how the stock market works<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Anyone who\u2019s ever asked, \u201cHow do I start investing?\u201d<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>People who learn best by writing, experimenting, and thinking out loud<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>If that\u2019s you, welcome. Let\u2019s learn together.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And next week, I\u2019m going to figure out what a stock actually is before I even try to understand what an ETF is.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>What I Learned<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Writing about what I learn helps me remember and go deeper next time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cSPY\u201d is not just a random word.
