Red Numbers to Green Numbers<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Back when Trump\u2019s tariffs first hit, my account was in the red. I was upset and honestly tried not to check it too often because every time I looked, it felt worse.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Now it feels completely different. I keep opening the app because I want to see how much it has gone up. It feels amazing, almost unreal, like I actually made a smart decision by investing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Looking at the gains makes me think, \u201cWhat if I had bought more?\u201d That part is a little frustrating, but it also motivates me. I have started saving money bit by bit so I can invest more in the future.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

My Portfolio Update<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

I started buying stocks in\u00a0December 2024, and today I checked my account. Since then, my portfolio has gone up a lot compared to when I first bought in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

  • NVDA: Bought 1 share at\u00a0$131, now worth\u00a0$167.02\u00a0(+27.5%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • TSM: Bought 8 shares at\u00a0$195(average costs), now worth\u00a0$1,947.28\u00a0(+24.8%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Total Portfolio Value:\u00a0$2,114.30<\/strong>, up\u00a0$423.30<\/strong>\u00a0(+25.0%)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    When I made my first trades, I was nervous and not sure if I was even doing the right thing. Seeing these numbers go up feels amazing, but it also reminds me that markets can move both ways. This time it went up, but I know next time it could go down just as fast.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    What I Learned<\/h6>\n\n\n\n

    • Losses can make you want to avoid checking your account.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Gains make you excited and curious to check all the time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Gains feel great, but they are not guaranteed.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Timing is unpredictable, but patience paid off this time.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
