But then I saw charts online of\u00a0Nancy Pelosi\u2019s reported stock holdings\u00a0and\u00a0Warren Buffett\u2019s Berkshire Hathaway portfolio. Looking at them side by side, they could not be more different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"930\" height=\"1024\" src=\"https:\/\/studentinvestors.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/IMG_2282-930x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-93\" srcset=\"https:\/\/studentinvestors.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/IMG_2282-930x1024.jpg 930w, https:\/\/studentinvestors.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/IMG_2282-273x300.jpg 273w, https:\/\/studentinvestors.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/IMG_2282-768x845.jpg 768w, https:\/\/studentinvestors.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/IMG_2282.jpg 985w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 930px) 100vw, 930px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Pelosi\u2019s portfolio is filled with\u00a0big tech and growth names:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>NVIDIA (15%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Apple (14%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Microsoft (13%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Google (9%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Amazon (4%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Plus cybersecurity companies like Palo Alto and CrowdStrike.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>To me, it feels like her portfolio is a bet on\u00a0technology,<strong> <\/strong>innovation, and<strong> <\/strong>the<strong> <\/strong>future. These are the same companies that dominate the news and even the products I use every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"640\" height=\"800\" src=\"https:\/\/studentinvestors.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/IMG_2283.webp\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-94\" srcset=\"https:\/\/studentinvestors.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/IMG_2283.webp 640w, https:\/\/studentinvestors.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/09\/IMG_2283-240x300.webp 240w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Buffett\u2019s portfolio looks completely different:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Apple (21.6%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>American Express (15.2%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Coca-Cola (10.4%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Bank of America (10.1%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Chevron (5.8%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Plus classic names like Kraft Heinz, Moody\u2019s, and Occidental Petroleum.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Buffett\u2019s holdings show his style:\u00a0value investing and long-term stability. He has held companies like Coca-Cola and American Express for decades. He is not chasing trends. He is buying businesses he thinks will still be around when I\u2019m old enough to retire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<p>Seeing these two charts made me realize something important. There isn\u2019t just one way to invest. Pelosi\u2019s reported portfolio is heavy on fast-growing tech, while Buffett\u2019s is built on patience and classic companies. Both approaches can work, but they reflect very different strategies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What I Learned<\/h5>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Pelosi\u2019s reported holdings are tech-heavy and focused on growth.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Buffett\u2019s portfolio is more traditional, with stable companies and long-term bets.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Two successful people can invest in completely opposite ways.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>As a student investor, I don\u2019t have to copy anyone exactly\u2014I can learn from both.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>When I first started investing, I thought most successful people\u2019s portfolios would look kind of the same.
